First interview
As everyone know, Firefly HQ is at Citta Mall (thank god cause its close to my house haha) So yeah, the open interview was held for 2 days. We decided to go on the last day, hoping it would be less crowded since its fasting month. I swear as we got closer to the interview day, we were so lazy, I mean in my case I was never interested but in my sister's case, hmm she was maybe lazy to fly again and waking up 2 hours early to get ready kot. Hmm idk but she got her reasons. Anyway, the first interview was at 10am. So as usual, my sister is one annoying punctual person so we got there by 9.30am and bumped into her friend from MAS. They were from the same batch so we catched up. Guess what was the interview like? Basically:
- Line up for the receptionist to check your resume and all the other things they ask you to bring (passport pic, full length pictures, certificates and all)
- Once they see all that is complete, they write a number on your resume.
- Line up again and wait for your number. Once your number is up, they'll take your height and weight.
- Back in line, wait for the interviewers to call you. Once called, they'll check for scars/tattoos on your body. Then, they'll ask you to walk and turn. Then, I was asked briefly about myself and why I choose Firefly. After all that was done, I was told that it was just pre-screening, if they like me they'll call in two weeks time. Done,
Yesssss everyone that was the first interview haha easy right? Maybe it was blessing of the holy month of Ramadhan that everything was easy and smooth. All in all there was only 30-40 people in total. However, different time and different people may experience different things. My sister's friend went through different thing during her interview. Less than two weeks after, they called me and my sister up for the second interview. We were told there is going to be an english exam, if pass then you'll proceed to the final stage of interview. And so we decided to just go with an open mind cause we are not that keen on this job. AGAIN, the whole process of getting up early and looking all pretty EARLY IN THE MORNING AINT MY THING so we all know I ALREADY HATE THE JOB EVEN MORE. Haih, I am just not a morning person okay.
Second interview
- Started at 830am. We were all put together in a room to fill in the interview form/. Once everyone filled in the form we had to wait for 15-30mins.
- Then we were all called to another room for the exam. So this exam consist of; brief malaysian history, brief firefly history, simple maths, iq test and grammar test.
- Once done, we have to wait for the rest to finish theirs and for the examiner to mark the papers to see who pass. We waited for 45min or so.
- 45 mins later, examiner announced who passed and who failed the test. Alhamdulillah 95% of the room passed and eligible for the final stage interview.
- We had to wait again, another 30-45mins for my turn. I was so glad and happy that I was the second group to be called in for interview. Basically, each group of 3 for each interview session.
And as usual, if they are interested they'll call after two weeks, Right after my turn was my sister's turn. Again, I guess its the blessing of this holy month Ramadhan. Everything went smooth and easy. Of course I was still nervous but still smooth. So less than two weeks later, which is today, I got a call from them saying I got the job! OF ALL PEOPLE, WHY ME?? Sadly, my sister didnt get it and I was sadder than happy when I got to know she wont be joining me like what the heck, she is more experienced! She should be hired and I would at least have someone I know and we can go to class together and eat together like what the hell. I hate this job already :( Well, lets just try to be positive okay and maybe this is my chance to shine financially and career wise. Collect that money for two years and start my own business (we'll see if this is gonna happen two years later haha) For now, wish me luck and pray for me that eventho this is not my thing, I'll nail it good and will last for 2 years.
Fingers crossed and hopefully this will be a positive turning point in my life.
xx
